Visualization

This visualization animates the arrival of data from a system that fails at the end of the displayed time period. The top two charts each show a plot of a single variable (univariate plot). The last plot shows the output of a multivariate model created using Bayes Server™. The multivariate model looks at how both variables interact with each other and correctly predicts the failure (red points). A univariate analysis which treats each variable individually, could easily ignore the clear multivariate signals. For example a univariate system which alerts when data goes above or below a threshold would fail.

The technique used in this example is called anomaly detection. To get started with anomaly detection, Bayes Server™ includes an anomaly detection walkthrough.
